The Center on Media and Human Development at
Northwestern University is creating a subject pool in order to facilitate the
recruitment of participants for future studies. Studies conducted through the center are designed to explore
and answer a variety of research questions related to children and media use. If you are the parent of at
least one child living at home, you are eligible for entry into the subject
If you agree to participate, the next step will be to
fill out an online questionnaire that asks for your contact information as well
as demographic information about you and your child(ren). This information will
be added to a participant database. This database will only be accessed by
researchers at the Center on Media and Human Development. Your contact
information will not be shared with any other parties. When recruitment for a
new study begins, researchers will consult the database and contact those
participants who may be eligible for the new study. Once contacted, you will
have a choice of whether or not you would like to participate in that
particular study. You can remove yourself from the database at any time.
All identifying information collected in this study
will be kept in a password-protected database, accessible only by research
